COVID19 Restaurant Update
With effect from Thursday the 5th of November we will be closing our doors for a little while to abide by the rules set by the Government for this second lockdown.
We will update on both our website and our social media accounts regarding our re-opening when it is both legal and safe to do so. If you wish to have a direct line to updates please sign up to the Kota / Kota Kai newsletter via the link in the footer of the website.
We are looking forward to opening up again and hope to be ready to welcome in the Christmas period and all the fun of the New Year.
April 2018, Kota Kai were awarded The Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence by the AA.
Kota Kai is an extension of the well-established and highly recommended Kota restaurant, offering a relaxed and light environment to enjoy a meal with friends and family.
Perfectly situated at the head of the harbour in the bustling fishing village of Porthleven, Kota Kai enjoys uncompromised views over the inner port, the nationally recognisable Clock Tower and beyond to the swelling surf of the Atlantic. With the option to Eat and Sleep in our B&B rooms above Kota 50 yards away, guests could turn an evening out into a short break away and really embrace the charms of Porthleven.
Hosting a party is one thing that Kota Kai does exceptionally well.
We have a dedicated team that will help you realise your ideas for a perfect celebration whatever the event. The versatility of the restaurant space, three separate rooms in addition to the main restaurant, allows us to accommodate most requests.
LOCALLY SOURCED, AND WHERE POSSIBLE, ORGANIC
Perfectly positioned on the Harbour Head in the idyllic fishing port of porthleven, Kota has quickly become one of the best-kept secrets in the South West
THE MAIN MAN HERE AT KOTA & KOTA KAI.
You may have seen the main man here at Kota and Kota Kai, chef Jude Kereama, showcasing his creative culinary skills in 2015, 2016 and 2019 on the popular ‘Great British Menu’ on BBC2.
Jude took to the televised kitchen as one of the three representatives of the South West.
Jude has a blog you can follow here to keep up with his antics.
AT KOTA KAI THE LITTLEST GUESTS ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THE BIGGEST.
A dedicated children’s room full of toys, books and games is perfect for keeping fidgety fingers occupied while accompanying adults take a break. Table football also presents a chance for a little friendly competition.
"Fusion food at its best" Visiting Porthleven on a beautiful sunny day, with there being plenty of restaurants to choose from. Kota Kai's reputation and interesting menu tempted us in, and what a fantastic temptation it was.

"Brilliant" Great for all the family with a really good little children's play area - Sunday roast best in the county, mainly due to the roast beef being spot on. Staff attentive and good with the kids. Would Highly recommend!
